Face Lift, Necklift and Chin Implant Surgery Patient:
Some people have not only a difficult neck to treat because of the extra tissue under the chin but also have a "weak" jaw bone and a very forward voice box. This leaves a very small amount of area for us to appreciate the angle of the neck.

In this case, submental liposuction clearly is not enough; a neck lift is clearly not enough, and in fact a chin implant is required not to make a significant change in facial shape but just to provide a framework from which we can move forward with re-draping of the neck soft tissues.

Face Lift Surgery Patient:
The loose tissues under the neck sometimes known as the "turkey gobbler" aren't best treated by an incision under the neck alone. In fact, in this case not only did we do a neck lift through "facelift" incisions (that means incisions around the ears and behind the ear to work on the lower neck), but we also did a small touch-up procedure approximately six months later to remove a small amount of extra skin that was still present. Note the changes in the tissues of the neck and the jaw line.

Face Lift Surgery Patient:
The tissues around the neck begin to lose elasticity due to the effects of gravity and changes in the structural portions of the skin. The folds around the mouth begin to form as the tissues lose the support around it. A nice combination for treatment of this is to not only suction fat from underneath the chin but then to process it, clean it, and replace it in the folds around the mouth.

This combination is perfect when doing a facelift since the fat is being removed anyway. This patient had a facelift, submental liposuction, and fat injections into the lines around the nose and mouth. Notice how this combination gives her the gentle rolling contours and fullness that she was interested in achieving.
